Computer Based Training

The CBT exam is the initial part of the NMC’s Test of Competence (ToC). It is a Computer Based Test instituted to measure the ability and skill of a medical professional aiming to work in the UK. Passing the CBT exam leads you into the second part of the ToC, which is a practical exam termed OSCE.

The CBT test can be done at any Pearson VUE Test and Assessment centre and the following OSCE exam two years within passing. The order of completion of these two exams does not matter as long as you complete them in the time frame. On your successful completion the ToC will be valid for a five-year duration.
